Supporters bid farewell to Steeno
More than 100 guests bid farewell to club legend Gareth Steenson at a breakfast held at Sandy Park to raise funds for the Exeter Chiefs Foundation.
Guests enjoyed a delicious, cooked full English breakfast and Q&A session hosted by Exeter Chiefs Foundation chairman Tony Rowe CBE.
Steeno was put through his paces as he was asked about the highlights of his 16-year playing career with Chiefs, which included 132 appearances and 2,593 points, and was also asked to share a few stories about his plentiful backroom antics.
The fly-half was integral to Chiefs’ promotion to the Premiership before going on to win the league twice, as well as picking up a Champions Cup medal. He went on to become one of Chiefs’ coaches before deciding to head home to Northern Ireland.
Guests, including former teammate Ben Moon, were treated to a compilation video of Steeno's top moments playing for Chiefs to generous cheers and applause around the room!
After the formalities were over, Steeno stayed to chat with fans, as well as signing autographs and posing for multiple photos.
The Foundation looks forward to Steeno’s continued support having promised to make regular future visits.
