Second Tomahawk Tour to take place in September
A group of cyclists will be undertaking a six-day cycle ride around the historic monuments of Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset to raise money for both Exeter Youth Rugby and the Exeter Foundation.
The Tomahawk Tour Monuments Challenge will take place between the 5th and 10th September 2016 and will cover some 400 miles of challenging terrain.
Starting at Exeter Youth Rugby’s Headquarters at Oil Mill Lane, the cyclists will head to Dunster Castle via Sandy Park. The second day will take the cyclists to Wells Cathedral and Nunny Castle via Cheddar Gorge and Glastonbury, followed by the Westbury White Horse, Amesbury and Salisbury on Day Three. Day Four and Five’s route will include Blandford via the hillside Regimental Badges, before the cyclists go to Wimborne, Corfe Castle, Wareham, Lulworth Cove, Maiden Castle and Abbotsbury Castle to Lyme Regis.
On the final leg from Lyme to Oil Mill Lane, support teams will meet supporters with their bikes in Exmouth. From there, they will form a cycle procession back to Oil Mill Lane along the River Exe Cycle Path.
The Tour is aiming to raise over £25,000 for the two charities and organisers are hoping to attract a number of sponsors to help achieve this figure.
