Recruiters go rugby mad!
Lloyd Barnes Accountancy Recruitment staged a Charity Quiz Night at Exeter Golf & Country Club, raising over £800 for Exeter Chiefs’ nominated charity, The Exeter Foundation. In addition to supporting this well-deserved charity, Lloyd Barnes have also committed to sponsoring Exeter Saracens rugby club.
The annual quiz night was attended by over 120 finance and accounting professionals from businesses across Devon including: Flybe, Coastal Recycling, The Donkey Sanctuary, EDF, Foot Anstey, Stephens & Scown, Cobell and Maximus.
With questions such as ‘Which single word Shakespeare play …… begins and ends with a vowel’ and ‘Which singer has sung the most bond themes’, how do you think you would have fared?
The overall winners were Exeter Family Friendly, whose combined intellect pipped the other 20 teams to the post by 3 points to win a case of Veuve Clicquot Champagne. With raffle prizes on offer from Kents Cavern, Exeter Chiefs and Paignton Zoo, the donations flooded in and many people walked away winners.
Keiron Northcott, from Northcott Beaton, representing The Exeter Foundation commented "Not only did we have a great evening, but we were delighted at the generosity that was shown by Lloyd Barnes and all the teams that attended.
"Despite not winning the quiz, we did come away with a sizeable donation to our charity! Having this type of support from local businesses enables us to make grant awards to a growing number of deserving groups."
