More than £20k raised by Christmas charity lunch
Three hundred guests helped raise more than £20,000 at the annual Exeter Chiefs Foundation Christmas Lunch.
Former England prop and sports pundit David Flatman oversaw proceedings at Sandy Park as businesses and individuals gathered to raise money for local causes in the wider Exeter area.
A fun-filled festive afternoon, the assembled guests enjoyed a four-course lunch and were entertained by Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo comedian Gary Delaney.
Exeter Chiefs men and women also attended to take part in a Q&A session while the Woodwater Academy choir sang carols to provide some seasonal musical accompaniment before a disco completed proceedings.
Nearly 120 charities that have benefited from grants totalling £3 million from the Exeter Chiefs Foundation in the last five seasons.
Exeter Chiefs Foundation chairman Tony Rowe CBE said: “It was great to see so many familiar faces at Sandy Park, all willing to help us raise funds that are used to support local community and charitable projects. This £20,000-plus will make a real difference to the lives of people in our area and I thank all our guests for their continued support and generosity.”
