Foundation Contributes to Volunteering in Health van

The Exeter Foundation has helped fund a new wheelchair accessible vehicle for Volunteering in Health, a Teignbridge-based charity which aims to improve the well-being of local people.

Volunteering in Health's fundraising committee raised money for 10 months, and with the help of the Exeter Foundation met their target of £15,000.

Michelle Willocks-Watts, Manager of Volunteering in Health said: "This is a fantastic achievement and I must thank our fundraising committee, staff and volunteers who have all worked so hard to reach our target of £15,000.00.

"Not only will we be able to transport more patients to their medical appointments, we will be able to offer more day trips out for the most isolated people living in our community.  Special thanks must also go to The Clothworker’s Foundation, Exeter Foundation, Rotary Club of Teignmouth, Teignmouth Tangent Club, Mannor Garage, Tozers Solicitors, Swiftprint and all the generous individual donations that we received.”

Alan Quantick, Trustee of the Exeter Foundation said: "On behalf of the Exeter Foundation, we're delighted to be able to contribute to such a valuable community project. We know that Volunteering in Health will be able to greatly enhance their services with the addition of their new vehicle."
