Exeter Chiefs Foundation Trustee visits Calvert Trust Exmoor
A Trustee from the Exeter Chiefs Foundation visited Calvert Exmoor on Thursday 16th June 2022 to mark the arrival of a new accessible trike funded by the foundation.
Staff and Trustees at the North Devon charity welcomed Keiron Northcott, Trustee at the Exeter Chiefs Foundation, and provided a full demonstration of the hand-propelled Tomcat Rotor Bullet Trike, which will be used to provide outdoor cycling activities to guests with disabilities visiting the activity centre, based at Wistlandpound Reservoir.
Along with the trike demonstration, the group also enjoyed a brief tour of the centre and facilities while witnessing guests taking part in several adventurous activities including a horse carriage ride, the Crate Stack and bushcraft.
“Exeter Chiefs Foundation were delighted to help Calvert Exmoor in purchasing the new trike, which we know will go a long way to helping provide real enjoyment to the guests visiting the activity centre” said Kieron Northcott, Trustee at the Exeter Chiefs Foundation.
"One of our key aims as a foundation is to give back to the local community and Calvert Exmoor are very much part of that. This is not the first time we have been involved in helping the organisation and I know we will no doubt help them again in the future.
"Thanks to the generosity of those who give funds to the foundation, we are able to make donations like this that really do make a difference to so many people.”
Andy Laming, CEO at Calvert Exmoor said “It was fantastic to welcome Kieron to Calvert Exmoor and give him a small insight into the kind of activities we’re privileged to offer here at the centre. In order to operate, we need to raise around £500,000 per year through charitable donations, so generous contributions like that made by the Exeter Chiefs Foundation will go a long way in helping us achieve that.”
He added “Being able to provide new and accessible equipment like the Tomcat Trike means that we can make our cycling sessions even more adaptable, enhancing the experience for our guests and giving them the confidence to get out and enjoy themselves.”
