City businesses are being invited to help their local community by attending this year’s Exeter Chiefs Foundation Christmas Lunch on December 12, 2024.

Monies raised by this event will help fund the Foundation’s third year of Feeding the Community at Christmas campaign, which will see Exeter Food Action provide more than 1,000 festive meals to families in need.

Exeter Chiefs Foundation began supporting Exeter Food Action in 2022 with a £20,000 donation to ensure the charity had enough stock to send out to its clients, in addition to the excess food rescued from shops and suppliers.

Exeter Food Action is just one charity that benefits from Exeter Chiefs Foundation’s work with 117 other causes also receiving grants totalling £3 million during the last five seasons.

The Exeter Chiefs Foundation Christmas Lunch is a key fundraising event in the calendar and ensures grants can continue to be shared out among charities in the wider Exeter area.

The Foundation’s CEO and chairman Tony Rowe CBE said: “This has become an annual event that gets the festive season off to a great start. It’s also a chance for local businesses to get together before Christmas, enjoy a bit of networking and, most importantly, support their local community. I would urge them to get involved to help improve the lives of local at what can be a difficult time of year.”

This fun-filled festive afternoon will be hosted by former England prop and sports pundit David Flatman with a star turn from Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo comedian Gary Delaney.

A four-course lunch will be interspersed with other entertainment, including a Q&A session with members of the Exeter Chiefs squad and Christmas carols with primary school pupils from the Woodwater Academy choir.

The Exeter Chiefs Foundation Christmas Lunch will start at 12noon and will continue into the early evening. Carriages are recommended for 8pm.

Tickets are £95 per person or £900 for a table of 10. Please book here.
