Christmas Lunch raises in excess of £18k
Over £18,000 was raised for both the Exeter Foundation and Wooden Spoon Devon following a hugely successful and enjoyable joint Christmas lunch held at Sandy Park.
Hosted by former Bath and England winger David Trick, over 350 guests were treated to a sumptuous three-course dinner, before they were royally entertained with a Q&A featuring Exeter, England and British Lions star Jack Nowell.
Following dessert, former England captain Martin Corry filled the guest speaker slot, entertaining the audience with some amusing anecdotes from his playing career.
A fun-filled afternoon was capped off with entertainment from leading comedian Nick Page in the Wigwam Bar.
Other VIPs for Devon’s hot ticket event included Spoony, Big Chief and 'Mr England' Pete Cross, the official mascot of the RFU.
This was the second joint event between the two charities and has proved so popular that next year's date has already been set for December 7, 2018.
