Christmas Auction raises £42,000 for the Foundation
Exeter Chiefs fans have been able to get their hands on a piece of history, whilst at the same time helping to raise vital funds for the Exeter Chiefs Foundation.
After the double-winning success of the Chiefs last season, one in which they lifted both the Gallagher Premiership and Heineken Champions Cup trophies, the response to a new online auction has helped to raise over £42,000 for the club's official charity.
Helping to raise the majority of that figure were signed playing shirts, worn by every member of Rob Baxter’s squad who featured in last season’s Champions Cup campaign.
Signed both on the front of the jersey and the back, the one-off items, that cannot be obtained anywhere else, have proved a smash hit.
In addition, the auction also included bespoke framed jerseys signed by the Chiefs match-day squads to feature in the finals at both Twickenham and Ashton Gate.
These frames not only have a match jersey included, but match-day programme, winning picture and the scoreline from the match itself.
The sum raised will help boost the Exeter Chiefs Foundation fundraising coffers, which have been hit hard due to the global outbreak of Covid-19.
